Sandra Marie Keasey (Thomas)
Sandra Marie (Thomas) Keasey, 77, went home to be with her Lord, loving parents and sister on March 9, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. at the York Hospital following a brief illness. Prior to her passing, Sandy lived at Country Meadows at Leader Heights, York Twp., York, PA.
Sandy was the loving wife of Thomas C. Keasey whom she met at a singles-group called “Discovery” in 1986, and they married on August 1, 1987.
Sandy was born in York, PA on December 20, 1940, to the late Warren G. (Barney) and Josephine D. (Myers) Thomas. Sandy attended the York City Schools, graduating from William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1959. She also attended Marion College in Virginia. She worked in several sewing factories and for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She later retired to become a homemaker.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dining out, shopping, reading, watching TV, exercising and taking bus trips. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, York, PA and later attended the non-denominational services at Country Meadows.
In addition to her loving and devoted husband Tom of 30-years, she leaves these family members to cherish her memories: John H. Keesee, (Kimberly), Wendy J. Keesee-Anderson, (Dave), Amy J. Keesee, and companion (Gregg), Rose K. Thomas, Delores Ryan, Nancy A. Keasey all of York PA, Sandra T. Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA, James P. Keasey, (June), Okatie, SC. and many cousins, great-nieces, a great-nephew, a great-great-niece and nephew.
Sandy was preceded in death by her loving sister Barbara T. Keesee and several aunts and uncles.
Following cremation, a funeral service will be held at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Following the service, interment will take place in the Mt. Rose Cemetery in a plot next to Barney and Jo.
Her cousin, the Rev. Dr. Kevin Frain, Chaplain at York Hospital, and the Rev. Dr. Leon Via, III, Chaplain at Country Meadows will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Country Meadows at Leader Heights, 2760 Pine Grove Rd., York, PA 17403 or to a favorite charity.
The family wishes to recognize the staff at Country Meadows, First Light Home Care and Visiting Angels for the dedicated and compassionate care given to Sandy while she lived at Country Meadows at Leader Heights and prior to that at Normandie Ridge. We’d also like to thank the medical and nursing staff at the York Hospital for caring for Sandy and making her last few weeks as comfortable as possible. Finally, we’d like to express our appreciation to Sandy’s many friends at Country Meadows who have been praying for her and offering support to Tom and the family.
