Mary M. Smith
Mary M. Smith, 94, died on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at ManorCare York South.
She was the widow of the late Charles H. Smith.
Born on June 8, 1923 in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy C. and Margaret O. (Simmons) Stauffer of York.
Mary was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School class of 1941 and Gettysburg College class of 1945. She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Eastern York School District and a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. Mary was also a member and past president of the York White Rose Lioness Club, a member of the College Club, a volunteer at the Bird Cage at Memorial Hospital, a volunteer for Contact, and a volunteer for the Area Agency on Aging.
Her only surviving relative is a cousin, Molly Stauffer Cruskie of Whitesboro, NY.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. A private burial will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
