Beatrice Rose Fraker (Wert)
Beatrice Rose Fraker, 95, of York died peacefully, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the York Hospital. Born in Lower Frankford Twp., Cumberland County on August 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Mary C. (Henry) Wert. Beatrice was the loving wife of the late Frank W. Fraker, he preceded her in death on August 11, 1997.
Beatrice was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook, and was famous with family and friends for her Pies. Beatrice attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church, and helped with the church’s Easter Candy fundraiser.
Beatrice is survived by her children: William H. Wert, and his wife Linda of Hellam; Beverly A. Vaughn, and her husband John of York; Steven W. Fraker, and his wife Rebecca of Coudersport; Linda K. Parrish, and her husband Allan of Hellam, and Connie L. Fregm, and her husband Mark of Felton. She is also survived by her sisters Mildred Cornman of Carlisle and Mary Brownewell, and her husband William of Newville, and her 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. Beatrice was preceded in death by her son Pfc. Roger L. Fraker, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War, her brother George Wert, and her sisters Evelyn Liberator and Lilly Negley.
A funeral service to celebrate Beatrice’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York with Pastor Tim Klein officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
