Obituary for Gary L. Olewiler

Gary L. Olewiler, 62, of Dover, died peacefully at home on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Born in Columbia on November 7, 1954, he was the son of the late Ernest H. and Margaret (Weitkamp) Olewiler. Gary was the loving husband and best friend of 40 years to Donna J. (Lenhart) Olewiler.

Gary graduated from Eastern High School, and went on to work as a facilities manager for the former United Telephone of Pennsylvania (at Gary’s time of retirement after 35 years of service the company had become Embarq).

Gary and his wife Donna enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed listening to music and got to meet some of his icons including Patty Duke and Kathy Mattea. Gary loved to spend time with his special furry friend, his dog “Emily”.

In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his brother, Kenneth Olewiler and his wife, Carol and their family of Wrightsville.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville with Pastor Don Alspaugh officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gary’s memory may be made to Memorial White Rose Home Health and Hospice, 1412 6th Avenue, York, PA 17403.

Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville, PA 17368.
