Obituary for Lloyd Leroy "Toot" Husson

Lloyd Leroy "Toot"  Husson
Lloyd (Toot) Leroy Husson, 93, of Dover, died Monday September 18, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Markey) Husson. Born in York on January 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Robert and Anna (Ferree) Husson.

Toot retired from Associated Wholesalers, Inc. then went on to work many holiday seasons at Wolfgang Candy. He served during WW II in the Navy Seabees in the Aleutian Islands and in Okinawa during the bombing of Hiroshima. He was born and raised at Bethany United Methodist Church of which he was a member of for 81 years. He was a former Cub Master of Cub Pack 135 of Hayshire and Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 60 of Emigsville. He was also a member of VFW Post 2493, Mt. Wolf and The Hawk Gunning Club. Toot enjoyed traveling and most especially beach locations with friends and family having gone as recently as last year.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and Pappy Toot making the babies smile and laugh with his snap and pop motions. He leaves to cherish his memory and love, son Michael G. Husson and wife Susan of Dover, three grandchildren, Stephanie Diehl and husband Robert of East Berlin, Andrew Husson of Dover, and Sarah Morin and husband Steven “Chip” of Dover and five great grandchildren, Samantha Diehl, Brody Diehl, Makensie Husson, Reese Husson, and Roman Morin. He was preceded in death by brothers Melvin, Richard, and Cloye Husson, and sisters, Madeline Uhler, Aileen Krebs, and Nanette Fagon.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a service following at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1401 Mount Rose Avenue, York, PA with his Pastor Wayne Heberlig officiating. Interment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 1401 Mount Rose Ave., York, PA 17403.
