Obituary for Terry Lee Billet

Terry Lee Billet
Terry Lee Billet, 59, of York, died peacefully at home, Monday, September 4, 2017. Born in York on February 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Donald Dale Billet and the late Beverly Joan (Ruby) Billet Martin.

Terry was a US Army Veteran. He was a roofer and handyman, working for roofing companies all around the York area, and doing odd jobs in the York area. Whether cheering up a friend who was down or using his handyman skills to build a set of steps for a family member; Terry was always available to help others.

Terry loved to have a good time out with friends especially at the 9th Ward Club, the West York Inn, and The Other Place. He enjoyed playing pool in leagues and singing karaoke. Terry enjoyed following Dallas Cowboys football, arts and crafts, drawing, and painting. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially his favorite song, Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky”. Terry loved his pets: his dog “Myrtle” and his cat “Sabrina”.

Throughout his lengthy battle with cancer, being with family was the most important thing to Terry. Terry is survived by his daughter, April Lynn Billet, and her companion Nick Strausbaugh of York, his sister, Tonya Denise Billet of York, his nephews, Justin J. Billet of York and Michael T. Caudill of New York, his best friend Paul Jones, and his three favorite ladies, Donna Snyder, Donna Clements, and Peggy Roe. Terry is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, A’myah Strausbaugh, Marlee Strausbaugh, Brynlee Strausabugh, and Legend Strausbaugh, and many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service for Terry will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003. Please arrive at the cemetery no later than 9:45 a.m. Following the graveside service, a celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon at The Other Place, 10 South Highland Ave., York, PA 17404.

Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, PA 17403.
