Eleni Savvopoulos
Eleni Savvopoulos, 87, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Manor Care-North.
She was the wife of the late Sotirios “Sam” Savvopoulos.
Eleni was born in Dorvitsa, Greece on March 3, 1930, daughter of the late George and Haritini (Gianopoulos) Karanikolas.
Eleni retired from Danskin as a seamstress after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Andreas Savvopoulos of Dover; two daughters, Tina Margetas and her husband, Harry and Anita Spanakis both of York; four grandchildren, George Margetas and his wife, Kelley, Sotirios Margetas, Eleni Cordero, and Sotirios Cordero; one brother and one sister; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 2500 Pine Grove Road, York. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service in Mount Rose Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 2500 Pine Grove Road, York, PA 17403.
