Obituary for Lester K. Watson Jr.

Lester K.  Watson Jr.
Lester K. Watson, Jr., 91, entered into rest on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Messiah Village.

He was the husband of the late Dollie (Smith) Watson and Annabel J. (Pletz) Watson of Mechanicsburg. Lester and Annabel were united in marriage on September 26, 1984, celebrating 32 years together.

Lester was born in York on May 26, 1925, son of the late Lester K., Sr. and Catherine (Houseal) Watson.

Lester served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Precision Tool and Manufacturing Corporation. He was one of the founding members of Church of the Open Door. He enjoyed biking and hiking.

In addition to his wife, Lester is survived by a daughter, Sarah Sharratt and her husband, Thomas of Dover; two sons, John Watson of York and Daniel Watson and his wife, Linda of York; a sister, Susan Watson Markley and her husband, Kenneth of Mechanicsburg; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen and Nathanael Watson; and a brother, James Watson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, with the Rev. Robert H. Riedy officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the church. Burial will be private in Suburban Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA 17408 or to Messiah Village Benevolent Fund, 100 Mt. Allen Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
