Robert Colin "Bob" Emenheiser
Robert Colin Emenheiser, 73, of Wrightsville died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Bonita (Oakes) Emenheiser. Mr. and Mrs. Emenheiser would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year on May 24th.
Born December 24, 1943, he was the son of the late William M. and Isabel (Why) Emenheiser.
Bob retired as a tooling engineer for Harley Davidson. He was also employed with AMF, Inc. and the Naval Ordnance Plant.
Bob was a 1961 graduate of Eastern York High School where he played basketball and baseball. For more than 25 years, he played softball, mostly for AMF, in the York area. In 1968, he was named to the Men's Industrial National ASA All-Star Team. He attended Penn State York. Bob was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Yorkana. He was a life member of Historic Wrightsville. He also flew homing pigeons with the Wrightsville and Red Lion Pigeon Clubs. Bob enjoyed gardening and planted over 100 dahlias each year. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and favorite cats.
In addition to his wife, Bonita, he is survived by his brother, William M. Emenheiser, Jr. of Mt. Joy and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Donald Emenheiser and 2 sisters, Janet Hamilton and Grace “Dolly” Markey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church of Yorkana, 5 Main Street, Yorkana with the Rev. Jason Guillaume and the Rev. Forrest S. “Bud” Bish officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery following a luncheon at the church.
