Obituary for Eileen J. Schmid (Stambaugh)

Eileen J.  Schmid (Stambaugh)
Eileen J. Schmid, 77, of York died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her residence. She is the wife of William L. Schmid of York. They were married for 54 years.

Born June 1, 1939 in Spring Grove, she was the daughter of the late C. Edgar “Bud” and Esther (Feeser) Stambaugh.

Mrs. Schmid was a Registered Nurse.

She was a 1957 graduate of Spring Grove High School and a 1960 graduate of Thomas Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Eileen was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and the Thomas Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 2 sons, Michael and his wife, Lori Schmid of Lititz and Stephen and his wife, Jamie of Phoenixville; 2 granddaughters, Laurel and Stella Schmid; 3 nephews, Lincoln Stambaugh, Larry Stambaugh, and Barry Stambaugh; a niece, Jody Stambaugh, and a sister-in-law, Donna Stambaugh. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lincoln D. Stambaugh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market Street, York with her pastors, the Rev. David L. Ritterpusch and the Rev. Brenda M. Ritterpusch, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00-10:15 a.m. in Owens Hall of the Church.
