Verna L. Witman (Cunningham)
Verna L. (Cunningham) Witman, 92 of Hallam, PA, died at Misericordia Convalescent Home in York on August 1, 2016. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Witman.
Born October 25, 1923 in Manchester Township, York County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Emma I. (Rider) Cunningham.
Verna was an employee of the former Roanna Girl Sewing Factory for over 25 years and a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hallam. She will be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to those who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna D. Kline of Hallam, PA and Denise M. Farmer and her husband Robert of York, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, two step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter. In addition to her husband and her parents, Verna was preceded in death by a son, Bruce F. Witman, a brother, Clifford Cunningham and a son-in-law, Richard D. Kline, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, PA with the Rev. Vernon Shenberger and the Rev. Edward Wible, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
